0806-mia-farrow-BdThe androgynous ‘do is hot. It allows you to scream confidence, play with contrasting looks, and have easy to style hair.

When going as short as a typical male haircut make sure to keep femininity around the ears and hairline. Just like you would wear a boxy blazer on top of a cocktail dress.. or some purple platforms with your t-shirt and boyfriend’s fit denim. The key is to keep it androgynous which is a playful balance of both male and female.

Speaking first hand (I went from long to short), I will probably never go back (even though I try every once in a while.) I used to be the girl that woke up an hour early to blow dry and flat iron every day. When it was hot out, I would dread this process… and forget trying to finding the right hair band to just throw it up.   Soon you are overflowing with hair accessories, equipment, product and treatments to manage your mane of hair. Now, with my short locks (varying between 1-4 inches) I get to wash and go.  Sometimes I will flat iron the long sections of my hair… sometimes curl them… but, for the most part I allow my hair to air dry with a small amount of control serum. When I went to the other side of the hair spectrum.. I didn’t know what to expect.  At first with all of that hair suddenly gone, I did feel less feminine and a bit of regret set in. I felt myself trying to dress more feminine.  I even pierced my ears so I could wear obnoxious earrings in  to off-set the lack of hair. But soon I realized that this haircut was a transformation. I found my style.  And the attention I would get from both men and women was different, in a positive way. It set in that this was not just another haircut . I dare anyone to take the leap and see what it does to change your life.

When getting the pixie cut do some research. There are many looks you can go with and various details that need to be taken into consideration depending on face shape, features, hair texture, hair color, etc. Be ready to visit the salon more often once you have this cut.  Men come into the salon every 4-6 weeks to ensure they dont look grown-out and messy.   As opposed to women who visit every 6-8 weeks. The pixie is all about confidence, product, and some feminine fashion accessories to off-set.  Enjoy
