Day 6 through Day 10:
Now that I’ve made it a third of the way through my challenge, I feel that I’m definitely more flexible and funny enough, more and more excited to get to my mat!
Practicing with the Moksha Yoga LA community has been NOTHING short of amazing! It feels like everyone is there to see everyone succeed and thoroughly enjoy their practice. I mean what else could you consider it, when you’re greeted by name every time you step foot into the studio.
At this point, although I know I’m going through the motions, literally, there is absolutely nothing that is getting “old” about the practice.
Day 1 through Day 5:
Considering up to this point I had only tried hot yoga 3 times, I knew I had my work cut out for me. The actual practice is only the beginning of what there is to learn. With each pose in each new class, I learn exactly what my limits are … and trust me, there are MANY!!
Of course with each new day of practicing there is the opportunity to push a little harder and stretch a little further. So, the first 5 days and the first 5 pounds are done and gone and I look forward to the next 25 days and the numerous additional benefits there are to reap from my practice.
About a month ago, I was introduced to a “hot” new trend among health conscious Angelenos. Okay so admittedly its not really that new of a trend, nonetheless it was new to me. Essentially, it’s a traditional yoga class but in a setting where the resting temperature is between 105 and 110 degrees. For those who know me, this isn’t something you’d normally see me jumping at the chance of doing, but after my first foray into the “Namaste” way of life, I was hooked!
Fast forward to today and I’ve signed up for the 30 day yoga challenge at Moksha Yoga LA, starting on March 1st. What this challenge consists of is 30 consecutive days where I will attend AND practice hot yoga, for 60 to 90 minutes! Although a little daunting at first, the challenge seems so worth the effort.
As a way of holding myself accountable and tracking my progress, I’ll be keeping an open journal every few days and posting it here. So, hopefully, you’ll follow me on this journey and maybe even get a little inspired to take on your own 30 day challenge!
‘Til next time …. NAMASTE!!
