Where the Stars are Bright…

wild mountain flyer page 1Aubrey and I were entertaining our sister salon from London, Hari’s, during the month of September. Katharine and Hari, the illustrious owners of Hari’s Salon on King’s Road and Brompton Road wanted to see the Northern California wine district.

While we could’ve gone to Napa or Sonoma Valley, we knew our client Niki Lopez had a farm up in Yorkville which is considered Anderson Valley.  Only a 45 minute drive from the vineyards and townships of Napa/Sonoma Valley, Yorkville and Anderson Valley offer up the same charm, quality and adventure that their more popular counterparts.  What makes it special is the fact that it IS the road less traveled.

The culture is definitely more rural.  The wines of the region definitely compete but you won’t find too many FAMOUS vineyards.   The restaurants are hidden treasures (though further and farther between.)  But that wasn’t an issue for us.  Who could mind when The Wild Mountain Farm had everything you could possibly need.

Nestled in the mountain ranges of Anderson Valley, these three cottage farms provide gorgeous interiors that completely open up to the majestic exteriors.  Wildlife soars and gallops around you and the nearest sound comes from the distant hum of the highway.

At night, we lay on the deck and simply stared in awe at the sky.

Inside, the kitchen of the main cabin gave us the space to cook like fiends.  We rarely out at restaurants because it was a greater pleasure to bring home fresh produce and prepare from one of the cookbooks laying about the farm.

I can recommend this place enough.  If you want a get away from two (2) or twelve (12) people, check out the Wild Mountain Farm.  You can contact Niki using the contact information below.

One large house and two cabins, all for rent by the day or week, surrounded by native Californian terrain and animals.

We are off the grid, but offer luxurious interiors in contrast to the rural outside.

LA Fashion Week, once again!

I once again had the privilege of working LA Fashion Week. Not only LA Fashion Week, but Concept LA Fashion Week held at the Ace Gallery.

I must admit, Concept has by far been one of my favorite to work for since I’ve been doing Hair/Make Up for Fashion Week since 2007. It is like any other fashion event, lots of fashionistas, runways, hair, make up and craziness, but what sets Concept apart is the edgy creativity that comes from designers to make up artists to hairstylists. We have had the freedom to do some reallly EDGY crazy hair and that is definitely the best part!

This Season I stuck to just doing Hair and whenever I got a free second I took pictures of as much as I could!
