I've always had a passion for doing hair ever since I cut my first Bob on my favorite doll, so it wasn't a great surprise to my family when I enrolled myself @the Toni & Guy Hairdressing academy in Santa Monica. I made the big move out here from BEAUTIFUL Northern CA, in 2007 and have been here since! I love everything about this industry, the creativity, the freedom to express yourself, and, help others express themselves as well, the constant education and evolving styles! I look forward to every chance I get to put a smile on someones face, and that's the best part of this industry!

Easy Hairstyles for Girls on the Go – The Short Hair Edition

Do you feel like there’s never enough time in a day? Would you rather sleep in then wake up an hour early to mess with your hair? Do you want your hair to look its best with the least possible work? Whether you’re chasing kids all day, working full-time,  a student, or just tired of spending hours a week on your hair, the truth is, you still want to look your best… am I right?? I thought so ;)

As a girl who would rather spend more time doing your hair than her own, here are a few styles I find the easiest to maintain for shorter lengths.

Classic Bob:

Recommended for naturally straight, or relaxed hair. This a classic that will never go out of style. Bangs are optional, but definitely add sass.

Layered Bob:

This cut can work on straight or wavy textures. For someone with straight flat hair it can  give the appearance of volume and movement. For someone with really thick straight hair it can remove a lot of bulk, and give you a lighter head of hair. For wavier textures, the shorter lengths will give your curls more life and bounce!

Graduated Bob:

Fun for finer textures this looks great. If you really want to play it up you can add layers as well, or for an edgier look, you can leave the front longer.

Pixie:

For the daring, this cut can be worn fun and flirty, or straight to business.

Keep in mind when choosing any hairstyle, that the texture of your hair will affect the overall look and maintenance of your style. Make sure to consult with your stylist, and get her professional opinion. There are also ways to chemically alter your texture to accommodate any haircut (Ex: BioIonic Retex, Brazilian Blowout), but that is also something you would want to discuss during your consultation. NEVER hesitate to ask as many questions as possible.

Finding a cut that compliments your hair texture, and lifestyle, with the right products, will save you plenty of headaches, and give you the power to control your hair without sacrificing your time.

For those of you looking to grow out these haircuts, or already have longer hair, stay tuned there will be more tips and tricks to come….
