First published cover! This shoot was very exciting. Audra Tong and myself worked together to create the looks for this shoot with Drop Dead Diva star April Bowlby. The shoot took place at The Dina Collection in Beverly Hills, which is a consignment shop for fine jewelry, fine art and anything else you can think of. The entire spread was in the Live OC October ‘11 Issue.

Years ago I was flipping through a fashion magazine and admired a photograph of hair that had an infinite braid that swung low along the neck with fabric laced througout it. I showed a friend this phtotograph of this hair that I admired so much and he looked in the credits and told me oh yea that is Odile Gilbert.
I had not heard this name before but I had already developed a love for her work and have been inspired by her work not even knowing who she was. I went on to learn more about her career, she has worked with designer’s backstage at fashion shows such as Jean Paul Gaultier, and Givenchy and high end ad campaigns with Chanel and Lancome. She also designed the elaborate look for Sofia Coppola’s movie Marie Antoineete, which I am in love with!
Odile Gilbert is truly an inspration to me. She creates sculptures with hair that I didn’t even know were possible. She inspires me to push myself in my work creatively and incorporate other materials into the hair to create something fantastical.
Below are some photographs of her work that have inspired me the past few years.

If you haven’t already saw Vogue for October be sure to get a look below. Michelle Williams taking on the role of Marilyn Monroe in her new film that is set to be released soon called “My Week with Marilyn”. In preparation for the film she did this beautiful shoot with Annie Leibovitz, styled by Tonne Goodman, and hair by Oribe.
I really enjoyed this spread with Michelle in Vogue. The styling was phenomnal with retro wardrobe. The feel of the photography was very clean and playful. I really love what Oribe did with her hair, it was set really classy and also had an undone lived in feeling to it in some of the shots that were in the field outdoors.
Here a few of the photos I fancied from the shoot.

Marilyn Monroe will always have a special place in my heart, she was such a unique beauty.
I was dabbling through some of the hair from fashion week this past July in Paris and I stumbled upon these images.
I am so in love these whimsical dresses from Valentino Haute Couture F/W 2011/2012.
The hair is so simple and soft, and decorated with the perfect vine like headbands. I’m in love
