Sassoon-trained Lisa is a master of a true, clean cut and an artist with natural color. That naturalism has been a cornerstone in both her personal and professional life. "Artifice is fun and fantastic, but one's hair should be a representation of your own inner beauty," says Lisa. "It should almost look more like you than you." It's through the connection she builds with each client that she comes to know you and glean what your hair should, or should not, say. This ability to relate well with her clients has led to a stylist loyalty that, for some, has extended nearly the entire length of her 18 year career. Lisa's goal, too, is creating a manageable style for her clients, or as she says, "A woman shouldn't be a slave to her hair". She helps her clients make the most of their hair. Teaching them how to best maintain how they look for days and weeks after they've left her chair. Lisa's work is inspired by the photography of Slim Aarons and Diane Arbus and her pastime as a dedicated people-watcher. There is a frank honesty, a rawness, that she sees in the vision of these artists and in the world around her. "The composition and colors of Aarons are bold and very exciting. Diane Arbus has a truth to her art that I think speaks to how much we can know about a person in the instant captured by the snap of a camera. I get that same rush of insight watching passers-by going about their lives whether I'm in a Parisian cafe, in Tuscan countryside or even here on Beverly Blvd." She's thrilled to be a part of Studio DNA, not just because of the talent of each stylist working at the salon, but also because of opportunities they provide which continue to grow and develop her as an artist.
